Edson Alvarez is likely to leave West Ham United in January, and his agent has been busy at work on that front this week.
He’s been busy holding meetings about his clients this week and the West Ham man is one of them.
Sport Witness reported this week how Alvarez is being pushed towards the exit door at the London Stadium as he’s clearly not a part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans.
The implication in that report was that he was already in the process of finding himself a new club. That’s where his agent comes into the picture.
Wednesday meeting in Spain

On Wednesday, Valencia held a meeting in Paterna with Tarek Sebiat, the European representative for the agency working with the West Ham man and Erik Lira.
That meeting was held with Valencia director of football Braulio Vazquez. And La Colina de Nervión report that both Mexican players are now on the radar at Valencia.
That’s because Valencia are currently managed by Javier Aguirre. He knows both well from managing the Mexico national team.
Deals for both players would be very different. Valencia would only be able to sign Alvarez on loan from West Ham in January. Aguirre and his team would highly appreciate his versatility, though.
Questions over West Ham

One drawback would be his lack of match fitness. The midfielder has barely featured for West Ham so far, hence his potential exit.
What terms West Ham would set for a deal is up for debate. That would include any fees and his salary. The Hammers have proved difficult on that front in the past.
For instance, this summer it was made clear that West Ham dug their heels in when Werder Bremen were trying to sign Niklas Fullkrug. It took the striker taking a big wage cut to make that deal happen.
Perhaps Alvarez would need to do the same. For now, it seems that his agent is lining things up and the Mexican connection at Valencia could end up working in his favour.
