Niclas Füllkrug’s agent is hard at work trying to find the West Ham United striker a club in Italy. But he’s yet to get any serious bites from his efforts.
That’s according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, via Milan News. He’s covered the West Ham striker today as he continues to be linked with a move away from the London Stadium.
It’s now an open secret that Füllkrug is working to leave West Ham in the January transfer window. His agent opened the door to that earlier this month by admitting they’d made a mistake joining the Hammers.
A return to Germany is seen as the most likely to happen. But there have also been links with a potential move to Italy building.
AC Milan are on the hunt for a new striker and have been credited with an interest. A report today stated Füllkrug’s agent’s efforts had caught Milan’s attention.
Effort ongoing for West Ham exit
Di Marzio now reports on those efforts that the agent is making in Italy. He, though, believes that they’re proving to be a little bit fruitless at this moment in time.
“Milan could do something up front,” he said.
“I think the departure of Gimenez is a necessary condition, as he struggled to process his departure in the summer, so much so that he then closed off all the opportunities that arose.
“I don’t know if anything has changed, but we’ll still have to wait for his return to the pitch. And as Tare said, there aren’t really any great opportunities like this. Those who have a strong striker try to keep him. Everyone’s talking about West Ham’s Füllkrug.
“Yes, his agent is trying to bring him to Italy, he’s offering him. So far, he hasn’t had any great responses from Italian clubs. He has a very high salary at West Ham.
“These are complex dynamics, but I’m convinced that Milan is ready to Seize the opportunity. Much will also depend on the league position, to understand whether to make an effort and what kind of effort.”
