AC Milan signed Kyle Walker on loan from Manchester City, with an option to buy, in the winter market.
The right-back has played over 1,000 minutes from 15 games for the Serie A club so far.
Last week, we covered claims from Italy which stated Milan have made up their mind to buy him from Manchester City. A fresh report from Calciomercato states otherwise.
The 34-year-old’s desire to seek a new challenge saw him leave Manchester City for Milan in January. The report states the Italian club’s aim was to finish in the top four which could help them cover Walker’s €5m purchase clause and his future wages.
Milan are currently eighth in the table, four points behind fourth placed Juventus. They face Bologna in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday and Calciomercato say this can be the England international’s last important clash for the Rossoneri.
The report states Milan have decided not to buy the defender from Manchester City and Calciomercato add that two key factors have weighed in their decision.
An elbow injury has seen Walker not have the desired continuity at the San Siro in recent times. He hasn’t started a game for more than a month, and this is the first reason, and the second is 20-year-old Álex Jiménez’s emergence at Milan.
Therefore, the former Tottenham Hotspur man will have to return to Manchester City after this season.
Unless the Italian media change their minds again.
