Kamaldeen Sulemana’s situation has been the centre of attention in the Italian press over the past two weeks. Atalanta have been trying to sign the Southampton forward and developments have been taking place quickly.
TuttoAtalanta report there’s ‘only a few kilometres left’ on the road that leads Sulemana from Southampton to Bergamo, with the Ghanaian very close to joining Atalanta.
The Saints rejected La Dea’s initial offer of €14m including bonuses last week, and the move should close at around €18m.
Sulemana has been key to the transfer and his insistence on reuniting with Ivan Juric has helped get him from Southampton. Juric’s new club knew of competition from other sides and that is why they accelerated their approach in the last few days to sign the 23-year-old, who showed glimpses of quality under the Croatian in the 2024/25 season.
Genoa have also been linked with the attacker but the Rossoblu have seemingly been left behind, despite manager Patrick Vieira being very keen on Sulemana.
