The front page of Friday’s Hamburger Abendblatt would make one believe Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s Hamburg exit is pretty much agreed.
‘Goodbye, Lasogga’ doesn’t take any translation, and the German newspaper go on to say: ‘HSV striker for switch to 2nd English League’.
Inside things are a little calmer, but, like many other German reports, Hamburger Abendblatt take Lasogga to Leeds United very seriously indeed.
Lasogga is being ‘courted’ by Leeds United for a loan, and it presents a chance for Hamburg to get at least some of his wages off their accounts.
The 25 year old sat out Hamburg’s training session on Thursday, but it wasn’t Leeds United related. With a thigh injury, Lasogga watched from the sidelines, however, Abendblatt say it’s not big drama as he’s not in the manager’s plans anyway.
The player’s agent Didier Frenay has been asked for comment on the Leeds United rumours, and is quoted as saying: “We are examining all options and will make a decision.”
‘Lasogga is now ready to leave the Volkspark’ claim Hamburger Abendblatt, and would be keen on a move to England.
If Leeds United were a Premier League club, Lasogga would already be at the airport, but the striker may have to lower his old ambitions in an effort to kickstart his career.
