Player ‘heading towards’ Tottenham – Spurs not looking to waste days, ‘next few days’ can see first offer

At the weekend, Calciomercato reported Tottenham Hotspur are in pole position to sign Genoa star Radu Drăgușin.

Genoa manager Alberto Gilardino has also responded to claims of Spurs’ strong interest in the defender and said he would understand if the Serie A side were to part ways with him in January.

Napoli are showing interest in the 21-year-old and have to fight with Tottenham for his signature. That’s according to Sky Italia, who provide the latest on his case.

Napoli’s Alessandro Zanoli is on Genoa’s agenda and the report states the two clubs have opened talks in recent days. The Italian champions could offer him as part of the deal for Drăgușin.

The report states the Naples club shouldn’t underestimate competitors from abroad and especially Spurs. It’s said the north London club could make their first offer in the ‘next few days’ but the outlet provides no details of the fee they are planning to table.

Genoa value the Romania international at €30m and even though they want to retain him, Sky say they wouldn’t be able to resist if Tottenham or another club were to make a €30m bid.
