Arsenal announced on Monday that Edu Gaspar has resigned as the club’s Sporting Director. The Brazilian explained that whilst the Gunners will always have a special place in his heart, he’s held a desire to pursue other projects.
Back in August we covered claims from Brazil which stated Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis wanted to recruit Edu from Arsenal to help him manage the group of clubs he’s building.
That group consists of Nottingham Forest, Olympiacos and Rio Ave. Marinakis was said to want Edu to be his ‘sort of CEO’ to work across the group.
Nottingham Forest’s owner appears to have got his way, and now there’s more claims from Brazil about what could be next after Arsenal.
Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola reports Edu’s ‘first mission’ on behalf of Marinakis is to buy another football club.

The Greek businessman wants a club in Brazil, and it’s apparently Vasco da Gama being targeted.
Vasco isn’t the only option but is currently seen as the likeliest club. Jorge Nicola explains to a Brazilian audience that such a move could be great for Vasco, given what Marinakis has done at Nottingham Forest and elsewhere.
