Charly Musonda’s loan spell at Real Betis was recently extended by Chelsea, as the player was very keen on spending more time in Spanish football.
The Belgian youngster spent the last six months at Betis, and has been enjoying regular playing time, impressing his club and showing he can cut it in La Liga.
Musonda has been speaking to French website Foot Mercato, and was asked about his decision to continue at Real Betis.
“Immediately, they made me feel at home and they gave me a chance to make my debut at the highest level, to express myself. So obviously I did not hesitate for long when I had the opportunity to stay here.”
The 19-year-old says he made the decision to stay at Real Betis before Antonio Conte’s appointment at Chelsea, and that it’s a dream to play in La Liga.
He added:”If there were any other offers? It’s possible, but as I said, at Betis I am home. It’s a dream for me to play in La Liga and to progress in this club and then in all honesty, I think this is the best thing for me.
“The decision to stay at Betis, I took long before the arrival of Conte at Chelsea.”
