Canarias7 reports that Jese Rodriguez’s move from PSG to Las Palmas, on loan, could become official today, leaving Middlesbrough disappointed.
Jese had clearly preferred moving to his native Las Palmas over signing on loan for Middlesbrough. PSG much preferred the idea of Jese going to England, because Middlesbrough were prepared, and able, to pay a lot more towards the player’s wages.
Middlesbrough’s pursuit of Jese over the past week has been so full of patience that it started to look like the club were building themselves up for a fall. Jese hasn’t been able to settle in Paris, unwilling to learn French, and a move to Middlesbrough clearly wasn’t what the player wanted.
Aitor Karanka kept faith and tried repeatedly to convince Jese, but when it became clear the Spaniard was stringing things out to wait for Las Palmas, perhaps Middlesbrough should have publicly made it clear they were walking away.
