Incoming Brighton & Hove Albion striker Deniz Undav has shared his delight at his impending move to the Seagulls.
The striker is set to join Brighton at the end of June, having completed a €7m move from Union SG in the January transfer window.
He’ll join Graham Potter’s side after a superb season in Belgium that has seen him score 27 goals and register 13 assists in 41 games in all competitions this season.
That’s seen him end the campaign with a Player of the Year trophy under his arm; an excellent return for his first season in the Belgian top-flight.
The hope at Brighton is that he can be the man to finally solve their goalscoring problems, which have again plagued them this season.
Whether Undav can be that man remains to be seen, but he is certainly relishing the opportunity as he has flown up the leagues over the past two years.
“I wouldn’t say it was quick, but it’s big,” he told RTBF.
“From D3 to the Pro League and then to the Premier League, those are two big steps, so I’m just happy. Every time I think about it, I’m happy.
“When I think about the season, I smile. Now I can test myself at the highest level. It’s not quick; it’s gone the way I wanted it to go.”
