Even though Gabriel Jesus continues to be pointed out as Arsenal’s main target to improve their attack this summer, it seems the Gunners don’t only have him in their wish list.
Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web today writes Mikel Arteta’s side area also interested in the signing of Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, who scored 16 goals for the club this season.
The website says Arsenal have been looking for other targets in Serie A, such as Lautaro Martinez, Tammy Abraham and Victor Osimhen, while the 23-year-old seems to be the latest striker followed.
The report, however, points out that Scamacca is also being courted by big Italian clubs and his future ‘still seems to be in Italy’, as he ‘wants’ to stay there.
Even though Arsenal’s chase for Gabriel Jesus seems real, it’s interesting that they’ve been linked to bigger and taller players in the past, as we cannot forget their January chase for Dusan Vlahovic.
So if Mikel Arteta is also looking for a taller centre-forward, it does make sense that Scamacca could end up being a realistic target, perhaps one that could end up playing alongside the Manchester City player.
