Sunderland were strongly linked with a move for Sevilla’s Vicente Iborra. It was claimed in the Spanish and English media that David Moyes’ team had tabled a bid of £7m.
Latest reports suggest Sevilla are ready to reward Iborra with a new contract. Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo say Sevilla want to reward the loyalty of the 28-year-old, after a concrete offer from Sunderland.
Moyes was reportedly keen on signing Iborra, but it always a bit difficult to land him with Sevilla playing in the Champions League this season.
Iborra has another four years left on his contract at La Liga club, and it’d be interesting to see if Sunderland return with an offer in a future transfer window.
