Late last week, Noam Emeran confirmed what many outlets in France had been reporting: his transfer to Manchester United.

Swapping Amiens for the Red Devils, the 16-year-old is now expected to enter the academy before starting his ascent through the ranks in hope of one day playing for the first-team.

According to Le Parisien, Manchester United could end up paying up to €2m for the youngster’s services, a fee they will consider minimal should he develop into the player many believe he can become.

Speaking to the French outlet following his signing, Emeran was asked he chose to move to Old Trafford instead of other clubs, and the answer was very simple.

He said: “Manchester United were more convincing than Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. The choice was made with my family and with my lawyer.”

The Catalans are said to have made a last ditch attempt to sign the youngster in December, but he had already reached an agreement with the Red Devils four months ago.

Perhaps Manchester United also have Wayne Rooney to thank for this transfer, as Emeran revealed he had a chat with the DC United forward back in 2018 when he travelled to Old Trafford to see a game.

He explained: “He told me: a player’s career choice ends up being good or bad depending on his determination. I understood that I needed to demand more from myself.

“I’m living a dream, but I need to stay grounded because the final goal is far from being reached. I’ll need to work even harder to make it at Manchester United.”

Those are the words fans will want to hear.
