Last summer, with Manchester United deciding to let Fred go, Fenerbahce found a deal to sign for nearly €10m.
His adaptation to his new club went very well, as he quickly became a regular starter there, and now helps them to be top of the league table.
As former Fenerbahce player Ridvan Dilmen today speaks about Fred, he’s quoted by Asist Analiz making big compliments towards the former Manchester United player.
“If Fred had transferred to Galatasaray, they would have become champions. Ali Koç made his team a league partner with this transfer alone.”
Fred has also been crucial in Fenerbahce’s campaign in the Conference League, as they won all the matches he featured in, and lost the two where he missed due to injury.
His good season in Turkey may make Manchester United fans wonder whether Erik ten Hag was right in letting him go, especially because the Red Devils have been struggling with injuries this season.
Fred is now committed to Fenerbahce with a contract running until 2027, with an option for an extra year.
