The Mexican media continues with their big campaign for Raul Jimenez to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It’s been a few weeks since local personalities started saying the striker deserves to be playing for a bigger club, and the subject was given a boost once he was linked to the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Today, the quotes comes from Chilean legend Ivan Zamorano. The former striker, who just like Jimenez played for Mexican side America, now says Wolves are not up to his potential.

“For me, Wolverhampton are too small, the best option for Raúl is to continue progressing; he can only aspire to the Europa League,” said Zamorano (via Medio Tiempo).

“He has to think about playing the Champions League, being a world class striker, empowering himself at a professional level and playing for a team like Real Madrid.”

Still regarding a possible move to Real Madrid, Zamorano claims that Jimenez would have no problems finding a place in the starting eleven. And he suggests another club he should play for.

“Today, if I were Raul, I wouldn’t think twice. Karim Benzema is a great player, but Jimenez has nothing to envy him; what’s more, Manchester United don’t have a nine, there he is, he knows the league and the team needs a number nine.”

The campaign for Raul Jimenez to leave Wolves has been so big that even the player had to comment on it this week. He told Marca that his club are not behind other Premier League sides in terms of quality, and also said they’re not selling him so easily.
