In the run up to the January transfer window, Wolves were linked with Amadou Diawara a couple of times, so it’s no surprise that now the winter market has opened they’re being linked again.

Claims dated back to October of Wolves making some sort of contact over a transfer for the Napoli player, and around the time it was stated the Serie A club were looking at €50m.

Thursday’s edition of Tuttosport goes over Italian interest in the midfielder, with it being thought clubs, including Fiorentina, want to sign him on a ‘dry loan’.

That means just a loan with no clauses relating to purchase.

Tuttosport say Wolves want the player via a ‘different formula’ which would be either a loan with purchase option or a straightforward permanent transfer.

Estimated fees are now closer to €40m.

It’s unclear whether Wolves are being dragged in simply to provide pressure to Italian clubs to make better offers for the out of favour Napoli player.
