Wolverhampton Wanderers and Andrea Favilli was a strange one.

The Juventus youngster hasn’t played since November due to a cruciate ligament injury, and whilst he’s clearly highly rated in Italy, the €20m asking price seemed at least a little over the top.

Sky Italia and Gazzetta dello Sport both reported the move as a possibility, with Jorge Mendes unsurprisingly said to be working in the middle of a potential deal. It was claimed that as Mendes was helping with Joao Cancelo’s move to Juventus, Favilli came into the picture.

Friday’s edition of Corriere di Verona may well bring some closure to the rumour.

It’s claimed that whilst Wolves have ‘thought about’ signing the player for €20m from Juventus, Udinese are doing it. The suggestion is it will be a permanent transfer, with the same €20m figure mentioned.

Several Italian clubs had wanted to loan the forward, but a permanent sale has been the Juve wish.

Given they’ve already signed Cristiano Ronaldo, and plan more business, getting some cash in is seen as increasingly important at the Turin club.
