At the beginning of August, we covered claims from France regarding Wolves interest in Boubacar Traoré.

The 20-year-old was said to be ‘the subject of an offer from Wolverhampton’, who had been ‘actively following’ him.

Wolves had already tried their luck in January, putting €13m on the table for Traoré, but Metz, then in a relegation battle, rejected it, wanting €20m at least.

The Premier League club were said to be prepared to either offer €6-8m now or to take the player on loan with a compulsory option to buy at €10m.

Benjamin Quarez, who works for French newspaper Le Parisien, now has a big update on the situation and it looks like Bruno Lage could be about to get his man.

According to the journalist, Wolves have reached an agreement with Metz and it’s now a case of pushing things through before the window closes tonight.

The deal is a loan with an option to buy, with no figures shared, and the midfielder is undergoing a Wolves medical right now.
