Portuguese newspaper A Bola today features a story on Benfica starlet João Neves, claiming the Eagles are working to raise his €60m release clause.

Even though the club renewed his contract at the end of last year, that amount is now considered low, given the potential he’s been showing at the Lisbon side.

And that’s where the interesting information comes up, with A Bola saying the likes of Bayern Munich and Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on the player.

It’s said that following the season Neves just had, there have been ‘echoes’ from clubs who are attentive to his ‘evolution’.

Bayern Munich and Wolves are two of the interested clubs, and according to A Bola, the €60m price tag could make this an ‘attractive business’.

Benfica’s worry about the 18-year-old’s future is big, with them ‘willing to guarantee more security’, and that’s why the story is on the front page.

Now it must be recalled that Neves only has 20 appearances made for the first team, all of them this season, and that’s why we wonder whether Bayern and Wolves would really be ready to spend €60m on his signing.
