With Benfica and Wolverhampton Wanderers still to make Gonçalo Guedes’ new loan official, the Portuguese media continues to bring news about the situation.

The player is recovering from a knee injury in Portugal, but according to newspaper Record, he travelled to England on Sunday.

It’s claimed that he’ll be sorting out ‘personal subjects’ and it’s not made clear when he’ll be back in Lisbon.

Record point out that his recovery at Benfica has full authorisation from Wolves, as the clubs already have an agreement for his new loan.

Guedes had moved to the Portuguese club in January, but due to his knee injury, he missed a chunk of games, only making 15 appearances in this time.

Since his last surgery, Benfica convinced Wolves that the best solution would be for a new loan, especially because the player wouldn’t attract many interested clubs in this situation.

It’s been a while since the Portuguese media reported that the clubs have this new deal, and it’s unclear why they haven’t announced it yet.

Perhaps his trip to England has something to do with the final details.
