Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raúl Jiménez has ‘made a decision’ about his future and will try to leave Molineux this summer.

That’s according to ESPN, who say the Mexican’s agent is currently ‘exhausting the phone book’ in an attempt to find his client a new club.

They explain that Jiménez, his family and his representatives are all in agreement that he needs to leave Wolves in the coming months after falling out of favour under Julen Lopetegui.

They have set out a strategy to make that happen, with Plan A one that involves placing him ‘among the top five clubs’ in the world’s top five leagues.

If that doesn’t happen, they will revert to Plan B, which is to ‘insist on’ smaller clubs in those same five leagues and if that doesn’t prove successful, move on to Plan C, which would involve ‘lower impact leagues’ such as Saudi Arabia.

The next option from that would be MLS and the absolute last ‘contingency’ would be a return to his native Mexico. Interestingly, the ‘undesirable’ option is to remain with Wolves until his contract expires in June 2024.

That is a hint of how he has been treated at the club in the last few months, where an apparent falling out with Lopetegui before the World Cup has left him ostracised since.

Any move would likely be a relatively cheap one as the striker, who was once valued at €50m, has seen his stock plummet and is now worth €9m at best.

That’s the figure Wolves would want for him and is seen as doable for many clubs. Whether his agent can convince any to make their move now remains to be seen, but Jiménez will ‘look’ to leave the club this summer regardless.
