Rayan Aït-Nouri has been withdrawn from France’s U21 squad for the current international break.

The 19-year-old fullback joined Wolves from Angers in the last transfer window and this season will be mainly about adapting to the Premier League and getting as much senior football as possible.

He’s made two league appearances so far for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, with mixed results. In his frst match, the youngster found the back of the net in a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

On Sunday against Leicester City his performance wasn’t of the same level and he left the pitch after 75 minutes as Wolves lost 1-0 following a Jamie Vardy penalty.

Aït-Nouri was included in the French U21 squad, however, an adductor injury has seen him withdrawn. Earlier on Monday, L’Equipe reported there was a good chance the Wolves man would miss out, and it’s now been stated that’s the case.

French journalist Benjamin Quarez reports Aït-Nouri is out and will be replaced by Montpellier’s Nicolas Cozza. There’s no further information on the extent of the injury, but it’s clear it’s been enough to mean he can’t take part in the upcoming matches.
