Liverpool star Cody Gakpo has insisted they “have to win everything now” if they are to make it into the top four by the end of the season.

The forward has been speaking to Via Play after last night’s 6-1 win over Leeds United at Elland Road, Liverpool’s first win in four league games.

The Reds had found themselves struggling for form after the 7-0 win over Manchester United at the beginning of March, losing away to Bournemouth and Manchester City and drawing with Chelsea and Arsenal.

Those results had left their chances of finishing in the top four looking slim at best, with the last two places currently occupied by Manchester United and Newcastle.

The win over Leeds was a massive boost in the arm, pushing Liverpool up to 47 points and six points outside of the top four with eight games left to play.

If they are to make it, then Jurgen Klopp’s side will need a strong end to the campaign, but Gakpo says the focus is on making it a winning one.

“We are well balanced as a team, but we have to get even better,” he said.

“Hopefully we will keep scoring, but we have to live from match to match. Actually, we have to win everything now. That is also the mindset and that is what we are going for.”
