Earlier this month, we relayed news from Uruguay that West Ham United and Everton are battling it out to sign FC Midtjylland’s Emiliano Martínez. The Premier League duo are now joined by Luton Town in the transfer race.

The Hatters’ interest in the defensive midfielder was reported by BT on Thursday, who also stated they have held talks about a ‘possible transfer’. It was also said the Danish club would earn a big fee from his sale as he’s expected to leave them this summer.

Luton Town’s interest in the 23-year-old is further backed up by Uruguayan journalist Rodri Vázquez. He also mentions West Ham and Everton.

He took to Twitter to state Rob Edwards’ side have been ‘added’ to the list of clubs, which includes the Hammers and Toffees, who have made a proposal to the Uruguay international.

According to Vázquez, West Ham, Everton and Luton Town all ‘have a chance’ to sign the South American in the ongoing window.

Martínez scored one goal from 33 games for Midtjylland last season.
