West Ham United could outmuscle Fiorentina for the signing of Spezia forward M’Bala Nzola, who they are targeting as a replacement for Gianluca Scamacca.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say the Hammers are a ‘real threat’ to Fiorentina’s efforts to sign the striker.

The newspaper explains that after West Ham beat Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League and ‘stole’ that from them, they now intend to do the same with the signing of Nzola.

Spezia have set a €15m asking price on the striker and trust that they won’t have any problems getting that amount for him if they were to sell to West Ham.

Fiorentina can’t reach that amount at this moment in time and have only offered €10m plus a little more in the form of a bonus.

Therefore, West Ham are a ‘real threat’ to their chances of getting Nzola this summer, with the Hammers eyeing him as a replacement for Scamacca, who appears to be on his way to Atalanta.

The belief is that NZola’s future will be decided this weekend, with the various parties already holding an exchange of phone calls and messages regarding the transfer.

Now it appears if West Ham get serious, they will win the race as, in simple economic terms, they can easily outmatch Fiorentina and give Spezia the figure that they want.
