Despite being linked to a long list of English clubs this summer, it seems that Stefano Sturaro should end up staying in Italy after all.

Last month, the Italian media claimed that West Ham, Newcastle, Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers had all made enquires about the player’s situation at Juventus.

And even though the story had some development for the English sides, with Hammers and Wolves said to be leading the race, things go the other way today.

Newspaper Tuttosport claims that the midfielder is actually closer on joining Fiorentina, especially after his agent confirmed the talks with La Viola.

The outlet even claims that Newcastle and West Ham were ‘presented as solutions’ for the 25-year-old, but he’s likelier to stay in Italy.

As it looks unlikely that Fiorentina would beat all those five clubs in case of an auction, we wonder if their interest was really as serious as presented.
