West Ham United were left disappointed in their efforts in signing Youssef En-Nesyri in the past few windows since the player was against the idea of leaving Sevilla.

Back in September, ESTADIO Deportivo reported the La Liga side’s €50m valuation had put off the striker’s suitors in the summer.

A recent claim from Spain suggested that West Ham could be given a fresh opportunity to sign the 25-year-old since both the player and his club are willing to part ways.

This is again highlighted by Sport on Wednesday, who focus on Jorge Sampaoli’s wishes for the January window. The manager has requested Sevilla sporting director, Monchi, to sign a new defender, midfielder and striker.

Sampaoli joined Sevilla in October and prior to his arrival, he was promised by the club’s board that the team will be strengthened in the winter market.

In order to carry out new signings, the Spanish club will have to first make a few sales.

It’s explained that En-Nesyri and Thomas Delaney are the ‘main candidates to leave the club’ in the next window.

West Ham are mentioned as Sport state David Moyes’ side ‘knock on the door again’ to sign the Morocco international.

The newspaper, however, doesn’t make it clear whether the Hammers have approached En-Nesyri or Sevilla, suggesting they could just be circling around the forward for the time being.
