It’s the Portuguese media who today has a story about West Ham United’s interest in FC Porto full-back Zaidu Sanusi.
Following articles from the English press at the weekend, outlet O Jogo now shows up with their version of the situation.
They start by highlighting that West Ham are back to being interested in Zaidu regardless of his physical state, as he has missed most of the season so far and only has six appearances to his name.
The Portuguese outlet then points out that the Hammers would only go for the signing in the next summer.
It’s said that with Aaron Cresswell and Emerson Palmieri both available, West Ham have no need to sign a left-back in the winter, and would leave an attempt for the end of the season.
It’s worth pointing out that Cresswell’s contract with the London side expires in June, so it does make sense that the Hammers are already looking at the market for players of that position to potentially replace the 33-year-old.
Zaidu is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €6m. He has a contract with Porto until 2027 and is protected by a €50m release clause.
