Milliyet claim West Ham United have increased their offer for Besiktas midfielder Gary Medel following initial talks in Turkey.

The Chilean midfielder is expected to leave the Istanbul club during the January transfer window and in recent days he’s again been linked with a move to the Hammers.

Today Milliyet report West Ham are ready to pay €8.5m for Medel after previous claims Besiktas rejected a €7m bid from the Premier League side.

The Turkish newspaper report the Super Lig club are not not entirely against selling Medel, but it’s reported Turkish club will try to get €10m for the 31 year old.

It’s also reported Medel and his family want to live in London and the Besiktas board are open to selling him once his valuation is met.

Medel has been one of the most consistent players at Besiktas this season and is under contract at Vodafone Arena until 2020. However, the lure of a return to the English top flight could results in a transfer this month.
