West Ham United are one of the clubs chasing Hellas Verona’s Isak Hien, according to a report from Italy.

The Sweden international left his country when the Serie A side signed him from Djurgårdens IF in 2022, and he’s been a regular for them since the start of last season.

Hein, who has featured five times this season, has been sidelined with an injury since the start of last month. However, that hasn’t stopped him from attracting attention from West Ham and others, according to La Repubblica, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb.

In the last window, the centre-back came close to making a switch to Atalanta but the deal didn’t take shape. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are still in the mix, and are now joined by AC Milan and Juventus in showing interest in him.

The 24-year-old also has ‘admirers’ from abroad and this is when West Ham and Bayer Leverkusen are mentioned. It’s claimed these two sides ‘like’ him and have joined the Serie A trio in the race to sign the player in January.

The report explains that Hellas Verona invested over €3m to buy Hien and his value has ‘quintupled’ now, meaning around €15m. This figure may not be an issue for David Moyes’ side to match, as long as they are genuinely keen on securing his services.
