West Ham United’s search for a new striker in the winter market is yet to bear any fruit as they have still not brought in a new player in the position.

The Hammers’ need to strengthen the position increased after selling Sébastien Haller to Ajax earlier this month.

This has seen them being linked with a handful of strikers and among them is Boulaye Dia, who has had a good season so far at Stade de Reims. He has 12 goals and an assist to his name in 19 league appearances.

Earlier this week, we carried a report from France Football, who explained the Ligue 1 side are asking for around €15m to let the 24-year-old leave in the ongoing window.

It was also stated David Moyes’ side ‘continue to follow’ the player, which has been further backed up in today’s L’Equipe.

According to the newspaper, the London club have ‘expressed interest’ in the Senegal international, but ‘without going much further in the process’.

Reims have ‘received offers’ for the attacker. However, it’s not clear whether that includes one from West Ham.

L’Equipe explain Dia’s case is expected to be interesting until the window closes on Monday, which is to suggest the French club may open the door for his exit in the coming days.
