West Ham United ‘continue to negotiate’ with Lorient for striker Terem Moffi, even after doing a deal with Aston Villa for Danny Ings.

That’s according to journalist Ignazio Genuardi, who says it is a matter of convincing the striker and not a problem of money that is holding a deal up.

The Hammers have been looking for a striker to add to their squad this month with Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio struggling for goals this season.

They have been heavily linked with Moffi, with several reports in France making it clear that a bid had been lodged with Lorient for the inform forward.

Indeed, a report earlier today from L’Equipe stated that a €25m offer was still on the table for the youngster despite Danny Ings’ imminent arrival from Aston Villa.

Genuardi backs that up, stating that West Ham ‘continue to negotiate’ for Moffi after securing Ings and it is not the cost of the deal that is holding things up.

Lorient’s asking price is ‘not an issue’ according to him, indicating West Ham are willing to match their demands, but it is ‘mainly a matter’ of convincing the Nigerian striker to make the move to the London Stadium.

Whether they can achieve that remains to be seen but there is a belief that the Hammers ‘could do both’ Ings and Moffi this month if things go their way.
