West Ham United are ‘considering making a new offer’ for Amadou Onana, having been linked with the player for much of the summer window.

Foot Mercato report David Moyes’ side had an initial offer rejected a few weeks ago by Lille. That bid was worth around €23m, and the Hammers would presumably have to reach a higher figure if they want a move to happen.

According to the report, West Ham remain very keen and have been continuing their contact with the Ligue 1 side. No fresh bid has been submitted yet, and that’s what the London club would now be considering, presumably working to find out the lowest amount Lille would be prepared to accept.

Onana has a contract which lasts until 2026, having signed a deal in August 2021, therefore there’s no pressure in that regard on the French club.

The 20-year-old played 41 matches last season, mainly in a defensive midfield position. Any new offer from West Ham will have to be tempting, given Lille will know the player’s value could likely rise over the coming season.
