Patrick Dorgu has told Denmark’s Tipsbladet that he’s now focusing on Lecce amid recent reports of interest from Liverpool and other clubs.

The Serie A side took the 19-year-old from Danish side FC Nordsjælland in 2022. He was initially part of their youth set-up and was then promoted to their first team at the start of this season.

Operating mainly as a left-back and at times as a left wing-back, he’s managed a goal and an assist from 21 games this season. His performances have seen Liverpool and others take notice.

Five days ago, Calciomercato stated Liverpool have made contact to ask for information about the cost and the ‘margins’ of a potential negotiation. Atlético Madrid are also in the mix but they’ve only sent their scout to follow him so far.

With the Reds, Atlético and AC Milan all keeping tabs on the youngster, Lecce technical director Pantaleo Corvino is rubbing his hands.

The Italian club are thinking of a big capital gain and the report adds they value the player, who has a deal until 2027, at over €20m.

Tipsbladet specifically mentioned the interest of Liverpool, Milan and Barcelona and asked Dorgu to share his views.

“I don’t really think about interest from other clubs. I’m at Lecce and I have to focus on the season and on myself. It’s great to hear that people look at me and talk about me, but I don’t have to think too much about it, because I play at Lecce,” he said.

“It’s of course a good motivation for me that there are teams looking at me. It makes me work harder so I can reach the highest possible level. I will continue the hard work, and then we will have to see what happens in the future.”
