Portuguese newspaper Record reports that several clubs had ‘spies’ at Friday evening’s match between Moreirense and FC Porto in the far North of Portugal.

The match finished 1-1, with David Texeira putting the home side ahead with just over 10 minutes to go. They must have thought they were in for a good win, but then Porto captain Hector Herrera got the equaliser in the 92nd minute.

Spotted at the match, report Record, were officials from Watford, Fulham, AC Milan, Atalanta, Celta Vigo, Alaves, Valladolid and Montpellier.

Watford also watched Porto last weekend, and they’re one of an endless number of clubs to be linked with a swoop for Herrera.

The midfielder has a contract expiring in June and hasn’t yet agreed a renewal, leading to assumptions the Porto captain will be leaving his current club come the summer.

AC Milan have been heavily linked recently and their attendance will cause further claims in Italy, with Watford being present again only likely to increase reports around their supposed interest in the 28 year old.

It seems Watford have a summer target at Porto, Herrera could be him, but there’s other options too.
