On January 10th we covered a claim from Italy that Wolves had made an €18m offer for Rogerio.

It came after several Premier League clubs, but mainly Wolves and Chelsea, had been linked to the Brazilian fullback.

The 21 year old is owned by Juventus but is spending the season on loan at Sassuolo. Jorge Mendes isn’t his direct agent, yet the assumption in Italy was that Wolves could make use of their relationship with the Portuguese representative and in turn his close ties with Juventus.

There was no explanation on what happened with the offer.

Now Juventus specialist website Il BiancoNero have spoken to the player’s agent. Before sharing Vinicius Prates’ words they mention interest from the Premier League, and say it’s from Wolves and Chelsea ‘above all’.

When asked if the youngster is ready to move to a big club, the agent said: “I think at this point he could play in any great European team.”

And then when quizzed on January interest from the PL, he explained: “In January we actually received a great proposal from an important club in the English league, but Sassuolo always considered Rogerio an important profile, putting him at the centre of their project.”

Was that the Wolves offer? It wasn’t made clear.

Whether Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are still keen after securing Jonny Castro permanently from Atletico Madrid would be another unknown.
