Despite having just been acquired by Watford, Colombian youngster Jorge Cabezas is already set to be loaned out.

According to journalist Pipe Sierra, the 19-year-old is ‘very close’ to being signed by Independiente Medellin on a loan deal.

Cabezas still officially belongs to Real Cartagena, who agreed a deal with Watford for his move to happen in January 2023.

However, it seems the Hornets won’t even give him a chance of proving himself in the Premier League, as they already chose another Colombian club for him to continue with his development.

Playing for Real Cartagena, who feature in his home country’s second division, the striker has four goals in 15 appearances this season.

Now with one of the top teams in the country working to get him signed, it’s clear that he’s been showing big talent in the local league.

Despite reports in Colombia announcing Watford’s purchase of the player, it was never made clear how much the Hornets invested in his signing.

In an interview with the local media last month, the youngster explained how he drew the attention from the Premier League side.
