Over the summer, several English clubs, both in the Premier League and the Championship, were linked with a move to sign Nicklas Bendtner.

The former Arsenal player was a free agent, having come to an agreement with Bundesliga club Wolfsburg to have his contract with them terminated early.

One of those linked was Wolves, as the club looked to add several players to their squad.

The interest eventually came to nothing and Ekstra Bladet believe that Bendtner finally learned over the summer that his off pitch reputation was harming his career, and putting clubs off making a move.

Negative media reports have surrounded the striker throughout his career and it was inevitable that it would all catch up with him sooner or later.
