With Manchester City loanee Pedro Porro being called up by Spain for the final stage of the Nations League, the Portuguese media of course has another story about him today.

Loaned by the Premier League side in 2020, the fullback can be bought by Sporting at any point before the summer of 2022, even though the Lions keep delaying doing so.

The big piece today featured by O Jogo is about this being the first time that two Spanish players are going to an important competition when belonging to the Lisbon club.

Speaking of Porro, the newspaper points out that this is the first time he’s called up for this kind of match, and that means his market value is only about to go up.

That’s why it makes Sporting want to trigger his buying option ‘quickly’, as they have the right to get him from Manchester City for only €8.5m.

We’ve been seeing these kind of claims going around the Portuguese media since last year, and despite news saying there’s already an agreement between club and player, the Lions continue to delay the purchase.

According to Transfermarkt, Porro had a market value of €9m when moving from City to Sporting. Now that amount has risen to €20m already.
