It appears that until the very end of the transfer window, FC Twente will continue to try and sign Facundo Pellistri from Manchester United.

This has been an ongoing scenario for the past few weeks, and it came after Erik ten Hag was the one who personally suggested the Uruguay international to his former club.

The problem for club advisor, Jan Streuer, who spoke to ESPN and was relayed by Twente Fans, is, after that, the Dutch manager brought him on against Wolverhampton Wanderers and then Tottenham, meaning he might still have a role for him at Manchester United.

Speaking to their Goedemorgen Eredivisie podcast, he revealed some of their ongoing transfer deals, which includes one for Pellistri.

He said: “For example, we are now trying to get Pellistri from Manchester United, but he came on again. So that may be more difficult, but we still hope that it will work. Ten Hag suggested him himself.”

Since signing from Peñarol, Pellistri hasn’t been used that much at Manchester United, with most of his time spent on loan at Alaves.

One went well, while the other didn’t, and there has been a lot of talk about whether he is ready for a role at Old Trafford since he is clearly ready to represent his country, having already done so 12 times.

Ten Hag clearly believes a good loan at FC Twente could do him the world of good, but whether that gets done remains to be seen.
