Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is ‘liked more than the others’ at Juventus as they look to sign a midfielder in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, relayed by Tutto Juve, who say Tottenham are now willing to accept a loan with an obligation to buy included.
The newspaper explains that Juventus could be allowed to enter the January window with a bit of strength if Paul Pogba’s contract is cancelled after he was banned for a failed drugs test.
Should that happen, it would give them around €30m, allowing the Italian club to ‘forcefully go’ for another midfielder.
Hojbjerg is the one they like the most and the club even had Cristiano Giuntoli and Giovanni Manna in London to watch Tottenham vs Chelsea on Monday.
The midfielder is ‘liked more’ than the other options on their list and especially now that Tottenham are thought to be willing to accept a loan with an obligation to buy.
In fact, they would like to close a deal quickly so they can then move in the transfer market themselves and reinforce Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
They’re set to lose Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma to the Africa Cup of Nations and letting Hojbjerg leave would further reduce their numbers, so getting his exit sorted quickly will give them time to find a replacement.
