Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher in the winter market.

That’s according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who states Spurs are trying to reach an agreement with the Blues for the 23-year-old’s transfer.

Tottenham are aiming to strengthen their midfield next month and the focus is now on the Chelsea player.

The north London club’s management admire Gallagher and are seeking an agreement with Mauricio Pochettino’s side to secure his services.

The England international’s deal lasts until 2025 and Di Marzio claims negotiations are underway between Spurs and Chelsea for a €40m deal.

Gallagher has been a regular for Chelsea this season. He’s made 23 appearances, managing four assists in the process.

He graduated from Chelsea’s academy and previously had loan spells at Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace.

Pochettino has mainly used Gallagher in the middle of the pitch, while has also deployed him as a holding midfielder and an attacking midfielder. His versatility and experience could certainly benefit Postecoglou and Spurs, if they were to get the deal over the line.

It’s to be noted Di Marzio doesn’t mention whether Gallagher is open to joining Tottenham in January.
