Liverpool have now been told they need €90m if they wish to sign Lille youngster Leny Yoro in the coming months.

That’s according to Le 10 Sport, who say the French side are demanding the ‘astronomical sum’ for the youngster as he continues to earn admirers.

The website explains that Yoro is ‘courted by all the major European teams’ at this moment in time after impressing in Ligue 1 with Lille.

He’s one of several ‘nuggets’ emerging in the division and is being followed by a number of clubs as a result and ‘discussions have also started’ with several English giants.

Liverpool are one of those interested in him and are ‘ready to sign a nice cheque’ for the player, with several reports indicating their interest over this month.

The first in the middle of the month stated that they were ‘drooling over’ the youngster and that was followed by another making it clear they’d been told he would cost €50m at least.

That price has quickly risen by €40m, though, with Le 10 Sport reporting that Lille have no intention of letting Yoro going at this moment in time.

According to them they consider the youngster ‘one of the best of his generation’ and President Olivier Létang, who accepts it will be hard to keep him, is playing hardball over him.

He’s ‘already communicated’ that he wants at least €90m for the youngster to the various clubs who have already come to inquire about him.

It seems he hopes to scare off the suitors and it remains to be seen if it has worked, with Liverpool having advanced the furthest, alongside Manchester City at this point.

It seems unlikely they’d pay that figure or anywhere close to it given they only tend to spend such sums on confirmed stars rather than talent with a handful of games under their belt.

Thus, you would expect this particular rumour to be done with for the time being, even if Yoro is undoubtedly a player everyone is keeping an eye on.
