Tottenham Hotspur were one of the clubs to have been credited with an interest in Nicolò Zaniolo since he decided to leave AS Roma earlier this month.

Earlier reports indicated Antonio Conte and Spurs chief Fabio Paratici have long been admirers of the 23-year-old.

Last Thursday, Gazzetta dello Sport stated the forward’s dream is to join Tottenham and there have been contacts with them recently.

A few more Premier League sides have come forward to sign the Italy international, on loan with an obligation to buy depending on certain set conditions. This has not pleased José Mourinho’s side.

La Repubblica, relayed by Sportitalia, explain the player ‘hopes to find a solution’ to leave the Giallorossi before the window closes on Tuesday. Spurs could ‘try one last assault’ to sign him, but they must find an agreement with Roma to conclude the operation.

It’s claimed the north London club would be ‘studying the right move’ to convince Roma to let go of Zaniolo, who no longer wants to continue with them.

If Tottenham are keen to sign the player, there will be more reports on this topic soon.
