Tottenham are yet to contact Feyenoord striker Santiago Giménez or his representatives, as they’re actually focused on signing a midfielder first.
That’s according to Fox Sports, who say the Mexican is currently not someone Tottenham are moving for as their plans are focused elsewhere.
They explain that they’ve been able to confirm that Giménez’s representatives have been in talks with Juventus, RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid so far but recent claims from England that Tottenham have made an approach are wide of the mark.
According to Fox’s information, while Spurs are interested in him, they’ve made the signing of a midfielder a priority for now.
Any move for the Feyenoord star would depend on whether they can sell a forward first.
At the moment it is far more feasible that he will join Juventus, Leipzig or Atletico Madrid as those are the clubs that his representatives have spoken to.
Of course, there is plenty of time for that to change and the transfer window can always throw up surprises but for now the chances of Giménez ending up at Tottenham are slim as they want a different target secured first.
