The rumours may go on, but as time goes by, it becomes quite unlikely that we’ll see Isco playing in the Premier League.

As we said two weeks ago, the claims that linked the player to Tottenham Hotspur seemed dead, since he was asking for too much money last summer and was back in the Real Madrid fold.

But the Spanish media keep insisting on this gossip. AS are taking claims from English outlets to say that both Tottenham and Chelsea are still interested in the player. It originally came from the Evening Standard and The Mirror, respectively.

The bad news is that, according to Cadena Ser today, Isco is in talks to sign a new contract for the Galacticos. That would mean his permanence at the club for a few more years, despite the claims that Tottenham would want him on loan.

As we’ve also pointed out, his form for the club has been good, and given that both sides are happy, there’s no reason why he’d leave for England now. As many other Real Madrid players have been extending their contracts recently, it’s likely this speculation will have a clean ending soon.
