It appears that not even Ange Postecoglou could change the mind of Hugo Lloris, as revealed by L’Equipe on Friday.

The newspaper looks at the entire France squad, and include the retired international in their articles on the matter, looking at what the future holds for the Spurs icon and N’Golo Kanté.

The Tottenham goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, where quite a few players are being lured these days, but a decision has yet to be made.

L’Equipe explain that with the player tied to the London club until 2024, he cannot just leave, and that’s why he ‘has met the new manager’, with that being Postecoglou, after the former Australia head coach took over at Spurs.

That being said, ‘the trend remains an exit’ for the 36-year-old, who probably feels he has achieved everything he can with Tottenham.

It’s said that a few rather big clubs in Europe have ‘passed him the message’ to not give in to the Saudi temptations, especially when there is a feeling that many goalkeepers could switch clubs this summer.
