Ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s clash against Luton Town tomorrow, ESPN Brasil managed to conduct a couple of interviews with Spurs players.

Richarlison was one of them, and the centre-forward couldn’t hide how glad he is that his team has been doing quite well this season, possibly fighting for the Premier League title.

The striker was asked by reporter João Castelo-Branco whether it’s a surprise that Tottenham are competing to be on top of the table.

The player disagreed with that, claiming all the team needed was the change of mentality that Ange Postecoglou brought since his arrival to the club in the summer.

“I don’t think so, because the coach came with a very good philosophy and we, the players, bought his idea,”
Richarlison told ESPN Brasil.

“So I think his style of playing favours us as players. I think we’ve been doing a great job. I believe that almost nothing has changed about players from last year. Only the philosophy really changed and we bought his ideas.”

Featuring for Tottenham this season, Richarlison has two goals and two assists in eight games, having scored against Sheffield United in the Premier League and versus Fulham in the EFL Cup.

The Brazilian hasn’t been holding a starting spot in the team in every fixture, but doesn’t seem bothered by Postecoglou’s decisions, as long as the manager keeps Spurs fighting so high in the table.

Should the current run continue, then Richarlison has the opportunity to be a big part of it and put his troubles far behind him.
