Thursday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport made it very clear that Inter Milan would not consider selling Marcelo Brozovic to Tottenham Hotspur.

They added that Inter would be very open to instead sending Joao Mario there. Inter would prefer a permanent transfer but at this stage they’re pretty much prepared to take whatever is thrown at them.

Now SportMediaset report, via FC Inter News, that Tottenham are keen on the Portuguese international, which is rather handy for the Serie A club.

It’s claimed Tottenham have it in mind to ‘try everything’ so Mauricio Pochettino can get his man. The proposal would be a loan with a right of redemption and Inter are deciding whether to take it or to wait and see if a permanent offer comes in.

They’ve been waiting long enough, and the effort of trying everything probably doesn’t need to amount to much more than simply asking and putting forward a vaguely reasonable proposal.
