José Mourinho’s arrival at Tottenham has seen the rumour mill quickly move into gear.

Since he’s been announced by Spurs, the Portuguese media have convinced themselves the London side are now making a new attempt to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting.

Newspaper A Bola has a story today saying it’s the ‘perfect scenario’ for Tottenham to make a new bid. They say the club could now offer €60m up front plus a furtner €10m in bonuses during the January transfer window.

It’s claimed that Spurs even showed they could pay this amount back in the last days of the summer window, but didn’t make it official.

A Bola says that back in the summer, Tottenham’s offer of €45m + €20m had been made by the club’s scouting chief Steve Hitchen. And although that first bid wasn’t enough, this second amount would be, especially because Sporting are now in bigger need of money.

A Bola claims there’s the ‘perfect storm’ for the ‘Bruno Fernandes dossier’, since José Mourinho is a big admirer of the midfielder and has always wished to have him.
